Using the situation of Sri Lankan maids in Lebanon, the paper presents the emotional issues faced by them, due to the control exerted by their employers. The maids are expected to put aside their personal lives, and forgo any social or romantic associations with others. The paper focuses on the means used by the employers to control the lives of their maids. |
