dc.description.abstract Remittances from female migrants makes a significant contribution towards boosting the foreign exchange reserves of the country. Notwithstanding this, the social upheaval caused by such migration is also considerable. To alleviate these problems, the process of migration should be made easy with all support and facilities provided to the migrants and the families. Such steps should be taken at the initial stages of pre migration. This study is aimed at identifying the problems faced by the migrants at the pre migration stage, in order that the Bureau of Foreign Employment could take necessary action to eliminate these problems. en_US
