dc.description.abstract This paper examines the migration of females from low income urban neighbourhoods, to West Asia, in order to determine whether or not such migration has been successful in household survival and social mobility. Interviews with returned migrants and families of migrants revealed that these were the main reasons for migration. Mixed views were also expressed. en_US
