dc.description.abstract Using data from 1975 to 2009 this paper analysis the effect of remittances of migrant workers on the economic growth of five South Asian countries. Other than Pakistan, positive long term economic growth is seen in Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. A bi directional causality is seen between remittances and economic growth in Nepal and Sri Lanka. en_US
